Sir Antonio Pappano, a highly sought-after conductor, is known for his charismatic leadership and inspiring performances in symphonic and operatic repertoire. Currently serving as the Music Director of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden since 2002 and the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome since 2005, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the music world.

In the upcoming 2024/2025 season, Sir Antonio Pappano will assume the position of Chief Conductor for the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra, having been designated for the role starting from the 2023/2024 season. With a background as a pianist, repetiteur, and assistant conductor at renowned opera houses including the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Bayreuth Festival, he has gained extensive experience and worked alongside esteemed musicians such as Daniel Barenboim.

Sir Antonio Pappano's reputation as an opera conductor is internationally recognized, with performances at renowned institutions such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the State Operas of Vienna and Berlin, and the Bayreuth and Salzburg Festivals. At the Royal Opera House, his repertoire spans a wide range of productions, receiving critical acclaim for works including Ariadne auf Naxos, Wozzeck, Falstaff, and La Bohème.

In addition to his conducting engagements, Sir Antonio Pappano has made guest appearances with world-class orchestras such as the Berlin, Vienna, New York, and Munich Philharmonic Orchestras, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the Chicago and Boston Symphonies. He maintains strong relationships with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, regularly leading concerts and masterclasses.

As an exclusive recording artist for Warner Classics (formerly EMI Classics) since 1995, Sir Antonio Pappano's extensive discography features complete operas by renowned composers such as Verdi, Strauss, Rachmaninov, and more. Collaborating with esteemed soloists and ensembles, his recordings have garnered critical acclaim and accolades.

Born in London to Italian parents, Sir Antonio Pappano's musical journey began as a pianist before delving into composition and conducting. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and honors, including Gramophone's 'Artist of the Year' in 2000, the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Opera in 2003, and the Royal Philharmonic Society Music Award in 2004. Recognized for his contributions to music, he was appointed a Cavaliere di Gran Croce of the Republic of Italy in 2012 and received a knighthood from the British Empire.

Beyond his musical achievements, Sir Antonio Pappano has ventured into television, presenting acclaimed BBC documentaries such as 'Opera Italia,' 'Pappano's Essential Ring Cycle,' and 'Pappano's Classical Voices.'
